Princes Risborough Cricket Club Lost By 2 Wickets

Match report A thrilling game went to the last over, with the Crouch End batsmen scampering through for the winning run with four balls to spare. Earlier in the day Wesley Strecker scored his third hundred of the season and completed 1000 runs for the 2010 season. This was accomplished when he had reached 54 at which point his team mates soundly clapped his inns,so far. His second 50 was so rapid that the scorer had to make sure he had reached his century by which time he was on 107. This is the first time your reporter can remember a batsman being soundly clapped for reaching 54 and 107 respectively!! Damien Pitt reached a hard worked 50 in what turned out to be the penultimate over of the innings and Matthew Greaves scored his maiden 50 in Senior cricket. A proud dad clapped his son from the pavillion in between making the tea. In reply Mark from Crouch End scored a very able 120 before being caught on the boundary by Martin King. Fine bowling performances all round failed to stop Crouch End reaching their total of 246. Andy Sheldon ended his best ever season with the ball taking his 65 wicket of the season in a brief 3 over spell. An excellent game to watch and an even better one to play in. We look forward to entertaining Crouch End again in the future.
