Match report A story of dropped catches lose matches. On another day when everything sticks the opposition could well have been bowled out for just over a hundred, but this was not one of those days. The nine men of Risborough fielded well up til drinks and had restricted Chenies and Litimer Threes to 70 for no wicket after 24 overs. At two thirty we were up to full strength but sadly due to there late arrival we were unable to use the bowling talents of our two late comers as they had been off the field too long. Risborough stuck to their task and fielded ablely and the total of 176 seemed very getable on a batting friendly track. The openers seemed to agree putting on 35 for the first wicket until a peach of a ball from the young Briggs removed Sweeney's leg stump. Batters came and went at regular intervals but Finley Wells put up some stout resistance for his 28. Sadly we fell only 21 runs shy of the target, which in recent years with no sides being put out, I feel is a good competitive start to the season.The young Briggs from Chenies and Latimer finished with 6-40, one to watch for the future. All the youngsters played very well and batted, bowled and fielded with some aplomb. We move on to NPL Teddington with some confidence. Onwards and upwards.
