Match report Hard fought draw against a good, hostile side...plus an annoying wedding.

After losing the toss and being asked to field, customary strong new ball bowling by Lau and Wes saw Chiswick reduced to 35-3, with Lau picking up both opening batters, followed by Wes getting rid of the number 3 with a beauty of an inswinger that pegged back the top of middle stump. Andy Hitchcock bowled a customary long spell in the middle overs, picking up two further wickets while making run scoring hard, and Andy Sheldon made a welcome return to the side, picking up 1-35 from 8 testing overs. Steve Greaves and Lau then cleaned up the tail, Lau finishing with 4-50. Mention must go to James Bee for another exceptional wicket keeping display.

After 'tea', we lost Wes early, but then Matt Greaves and Ryan McGuinness made steady progress, putting on nearly 50 for the second wicket, before Matt was out for 22. Ryan kept the scoring going, hitting six boundaries on his way to 42, backed up by Pratik who ended up as the batting hero, finishing on 41 not out in an assured and gutsy display in the face of some good bowling and poor behaviour from several members of the opposition. Hitch did his best to keep the run chase going, breaking his bat in the process, and Liam Barnard held on at the end, securing the draw with Pratik.
